A group called Families USA focuses on family health issues, and recently issued reports for every state showing the statistics for how many people were without health insurance. You can see the Florida statistics at the page below.

Generally, prior statistics that are quoted often in news articles, and that I have seen were based upon the US Census and said that 47-million in the US did not have health insurance.
This is a more in depth analysis, but until you review the method used to develop the report, be skeptical.
