Disabled Marine David Hedrick to Address
Supporters of Patricia Sullivan for Congress This Friday at 8am in Mt. Dora
Eustis, FL, November 11, 2009 - Disabled Marine Veteran David W. Hedrick will address supporters of Patricia Sullivan for Congress at a 8am breakfast in Mount Dora on Friday.
Mr. Hedrick will be sharing his experience from a previous Congressional town hall meeting which was earlier viewd by millions on YouTube. At that earlier August meeting, he verbally battered Congressman Brian Baird (D-WA) for comments made earlier in the meeting. Mr. Hedrick's strongly-worded advice to Congressman Baird was to step away from increasing the government's role in his everyday life. He warned the Congressman to "Stay away from my kids!" among other comments.
In an impassioned speech, later featured on national news and receiving millions of video views on the internet, Mr. Hedrick informed his Congressman that government is overstepping its role in the everyday lives of citizens. He specifically opposed initiatives regarding education and health care reform. His original speech on August 18, 2009 received heavy applause from the local audience. As a result of his dissatisfaction with Mr. Baird, David Hedrick has announced his intention to run for Congress against Mr. Baird in 2010.
Patricia Sullivan's similar views about Congress, prompted her to announce her candidacy for election on October 6th in Florida's 8th Congressional District. She became increasingly alarmed that both Congress and the Executive Branch had overstepped their Constitutional authority. Specific areas of her concern include attempts of the government to assume too much control in Health Care, Environmental Protection, and Education. She is especially troubled with the increasing impact personal taxes will have on families and senior citizens.
Both Mr. Hedrick and Mrs. Sullivan are running on platforms of decreased government involvement in the lives of citizens. More detail about their campaigns is available at their web sites:
