As we posted earlier, local Lake County, FL residents Marilyn Bainter and Stan Bainter filed a lawsuit against the Board of the North Lake Hospital District claiming it should not exist since it had not followed the Florida Constitution. Currently, the Florida law is followed by the Board which collects about $11-million per year and distributes it to two local hospitals, Florida Hospital - Waterman, and Leesburg Regional Medical Center (LRMC), and the lawsuit basically says that over time, the District Board did not follow requirements of the State Constitution, thus it is not legal, thus the tax is not legal, which will be decided by the Court.
