Barrow was in the Daily Commercial recently, describing the nearby earthquake in Mexico because she was on vacation in San Diego.
After being on the Lake County School Board for four years, she issued a notice that she does not intend to run for office again.
Here is her message, sent out...
today, Friday, Apr. 9 at about 12:30 pm. Her email is [email protected] . You can visit the County Elections department to see a list of ALL current candidates for Lake County elected positions HERE.

This
message is from Cindy Barrow, Lake County School Board Member, District
3. This is not an official communication from the Lake County
School Board. This message contains my thoughts and opinions and is not
reflective of other board members thoughts or opinions. I am responsible
for the contents of this message.
Dear
Citizens:
As
you know, I am committed to supporting and continuously improving public
education for our children. I have enjoyed my position and the ability to
affect change. However, today I am announcing my decision not to
seek re-election.
I
am committed to putting my full and best effort into the remainder of my term
on the school board. It has been my pleasure and my honor to serve you as
Chair of the board and as a school board member for the past 3 years. I will
remain committed to the Lake County School district as a parent of a rising
middle school student. I will also make myself available to serve on school
board committees and to help my Kiwanis Club in Clermont.
I
am sending you this message in an effort to help produce the best possible
candidates for my position. We have one candidate who has filed and is
attending school board meetings. I am hopeful that any other interested
persons will attend meetings and read agendas so as to be prepared to assume
office and make the best decisions on behalf of the children.
Lake
County Schools has a wonderful Superintendent and administration! The
district is in great hands. I will leave you as board member having
helped to improve the overall functioning of our school
district. I also wish to thank the Florida School Board's Association for
their outstanding training, consultation, and leadership.
I
am not running for any other office at this time. My family wishes to
become private citizens and I will spend more time with my one and only
child. Time is one item that can NOT be retrieved.
In addition, I will actually work towards building my part time
therapy practice and consulting business.
I
have appreciated your support and all of your efforts to make Lake County a
better place to go to school, live, and work!
I
hope that all of you will work to find interested candidates for open
school board seats. We need the best and brightest citizens to serve our
school district!
Sincerely,
Cindy
Barrow
