The local Lake County Republican Executive Committee (REC) recently hosted Blaise Intoglia who gave an hour presentation on "Government Gone Wild" or just how REALLY bad the Federal government's fiscal position will be now and in the future.
There were about seventy of us there, but notably missing were numerous local elected Republicans, even though this was publicized by the REC widely.

The presentation was a fact filled but sobering view of how bad the Federal government's fiscal affairs are, and how prior legislatures and Presidents (especially Obama) have set the Federal government on a course towards possible bankruptcy. All you local government workers who vote Democrat just remember that when Feds start cutting off grants and programs and your job might be terminated.
One subject that made people mad was Blaise's list of the original "estimate" for Federal, State or local Capital construction projects comparing the original estimate to the actual, total cost after completion. We are talking huge LIES were used to justify projects LIKE RAILROADS (Sunrail anyone ) where actual costs were several times the original cost estimate espoused by politicians and staff) . This is one of the major reasons why I am against ANY rail project, because they all have huge cost overruns and the estimates are LIES. (We plan to review change orders for the Lake County Judicial Center and the EOC to identify similar issues, if they happen locally).

The REC plans to have him back to give the presentation in South Lake County later this year.

If we stop all spending today and pay 100 million a day...toward the debt it would take us 394 years to pay off this debt. Any ideas? Because by 2021 we will pay $1,129 Trillion a year in Interest alone. Unsustainable ring a bell? By 2046 every dime will go to pay just the interest on the debt. JUST THE INTEREST ON THE DEBT…. We support 21.3 million government employee’s that’s 16% of the voting electorate that works for the government and votes accordingly...i.e. think unions think collective bargaining. And since their jobs depend on Federal wage increases, if their spouses support them, that means 32% of the electorate will vote for big spending elected officials.

The Future of our Republic: Bankruptcy, runaway inflation, massive tax increases. There is no quick fix for this.
We have been Apathetic to the point of overspending to take care of everyone’s pet projects… now we are Angry … it is time to get Active… Activism, we must pay attention and do what we can… OUR Republic is at stake do you get that?
