Part 1 Video - Dan Petersen from Coalition on Property Rights
The meeting included a 20 minute overview of Agenda 21 by Dan Petersen from the Orlando based Coalition on Property Rights. Agenda 21 affects many areas of US freedoms and property rights is just one area. Petersen's overview is normally 90 minutes, so much of it was skipped (unfortunately - but I have seen it). HOWEVER, FiscalRangers.com previously taped his longer presentation, and it is HERE.
Part 2 Video - A panel of three local elected officials discussing Agenda 21.
- FL Senator Alan Hays read text from a bill he is initiating with others to ban Agenda 21 practices in Florida. He admitted the wording could change before he files it, that others may file similar bills, and then wording could change in the early 2013 FL legislative session when bills are considered. His hope was to implement a bill similar to one already passed in Alabama.
- Lake County School Board member Tod Howard - spoke briefly about Agenda 21 in the local school systems and that the IB or International Bacalaureate program does not exist in Lake County (yet). He did not address UNESCO or other UN programs working to modify curriculums in areas like teaching students that the community and big government are more important than individuality or parents. (The idea comes from Communism, which is to educate kids to always believe big government knows better and that one world government is better than US rights and freedoms). Howard did however discuss his experience in the fishing industry with many restrictions imposed by the Federal government and how their staff don't care about local fishing businesses (Howard's wife has a fishing charter business). Howard also pointed out a good idea, which is that the fight is between environmentalists who want to take all property rights from people, and conservation which protects land use while ensuring rights of humans to access it and develop resources. Thus you can always tell an Agenda 21 type environmentalist zealots because they want to completely limit humans from access to land and resources (timber, fish, mining, etc.).
- Lake County Commissioner Sean Parks talked about the need to balance conservation with property rights.
This was the first of many anti-Agenda 21 meetings promised by the 912 Tea Party leaders, and others will kickoff after the Nov. 6th elections.
