Upcoming Lake County Impact Fee Decisions Could Result in NEW Taxes for YOU!

Tavares, FL - Lake County, FL - Monday, Nov. 26, 2012 After taking a 3-week period to recover from the election results, we are back at it! Your taxes could be raised next year if the Lake County Board decides to continue waiving local Impact Fees on new construction. By waiving the impact fees, the Board is giving up tax revenues that will need to be provided by another source, like property taxes, sales taxes, etc. The Lake County Board and the Lake County School District Board are in the process of deciding whether to renew suspension of impact fees for County transportation (roads) and Schools on new construction of homes and commercial buildings. If you read about or see Lake County (not city) roads being overcrowded, or schools not being able to buy new buildings, computers or school buses, one reason is that impact fees for them were waived by the County Board the last 2-3 years. Property Rights Alert: Chinese Homeowners Refuse to Cave to Eminent Domain Takeover

In China, if a local government wants your property for new roads, stadiums, dams, etc. they can invoke eminent domain, underpay the owners for their property, and destroy whole villages to pave a new highway (that may benefit a construction firm paying bribes - we know them as public private partnerships). In this case, homeowners refused to move or sell their house due to the low payment offered. The rest of their village was demolished for a new highway and the highway was built AROUND the sole remaining house. After four years, the owners still have not caved to authorities and accepted the low payment offered. In the US, authorities implement stricter and stricter land use regulations on properties (larger buffers, restrictions on harvesting resources, etc that drive property values down) so values are low and can be bought for much less, perhaps by favored developers or sale for "conservation" interests. Earlier last week, the Lake County, FL Board had their annual meeting to present some awards and a video on "State of the County". Not many people knew about it because it was not listed on the Board's Meeting Agenda webpage or on the Lake County Meetings Calendar. I was told there were meeting notices in both local papers, but I did not see them. I only knew about it from reading a press release sent out 203 weeks earlier. Award plaques were given to outgoing Commissioner Jennifer Hill, and 2012 Lake County Woman of the Year, Dr. Gwen McLin. (Pictures by Kelly LaFollette). Another Florida Voter Ballot Scandal - In Palm Beach County, 500 absentee ballots had DUPLICATES of three Amendments & Missed another one ; AFP Calls for Democrat Supervisor to Resign

500 Faulty ballots aimed to protect Democrat interests were printed by the Democrat Elections Supervisor in Palm Beach County, FL. The faulty ballots were not printed by an outside printer, but by the Democrat Supervisor of Elections office. This incident was reported by the Palm Beach Post on Tuesday.
