Tavares, FL - April 29, 2013 by Vance Jochim, FiscalRangers.com The Lake County Historical Society had two competing elections for new officers and one slate received approval by the County Manager, and the doors of the Lake County Museum were then locked to keep out the opposing "rebel" faction. This is important because the Society has an agreement with the County Government to administer the Lake County History museum AND receives $20,000 from them to do so. I wrote last week about the controversial Lake County Historical Society, the recent audit disclosing numerous fiscal and operational problems and pending elections where two fighting factions would make it a nail biter.
