Will
there be double school sessions in Lake County FL due to inaction by
the School Board to approve funding methods like impact fees?
Will the Lake County School Board ever make a decision to approve revenues to fund over $900-million in backlogs?
They need to start building a $30-million school in South County now to provide for growing student populations, but still have not developed a consensus. They met with the Lake County Board last Monday to go over some complex ways to charge impact fees but spread the cost over future property tax bills on new construction, but it appears to complex to do now. So, next Monday, the School Board meets and will they actually get three of the five members to re-instate any Impact fees to fund future needs, or will they discuss it and THUD, the issue drops to the floor. As long as you have the Chair Kyleen Fischer making decisions based upon complaints from homebuilders (to prevent impact fees), there seems to be no funding prospects.
