I attended yesterday's 4-hour Lake County FL Legislators' Delegation forum in Leesburg, attended (LtoR) by FL Rep. Jennifer Sullivan, FL Rep. Larry Metz, FL Rep. Marlene O'Toole, FL Sen Dorothy Hukill and FL Sen Alan Hays.
I will be uploading a video of the entire meeting to my "FiscalRangersFlorida" YouTube channel in 1-2 days.
The biggest issue discussed was feedback from 11-12 angry moms about Common Core and how it needed to be replaced entirely.
Most of the other issues presented by speakers in 3 minute input sessions were routine requests for legislation or continuted funding for agencies.
I submitted public input on the need for each legislator to spend 5-10% of their time improving oversight, accountability and transparency of State and local government agencies and gave them a list of issues. I will be writing a separate article on this blog about those issues.
The Daily Commercial also had an article this morning with some of the better anti-Common Core quotes. The picture is by Sara Pennington from Rep. Metz's office.

Update info regarding the video: The speakers opposing Common Core start at about 46 minutes into the video. I plan to break out a separate video of just the Common Core speakers by this Sunday, Dec. 7 (Pearl Harbor day). I also will be posting an article on my blog, FiscalRangers.com with copies of the supporting documents turned in by the earlier deadline (not documents turned in on Dec. 2). Any documents turned in on Dec. 2, or talk notes can be sent to me by speakers to FiscalRangers.com for inclusion in that article.
