Today the US House of Representatives votes for the new Speaker of the House. If you want change in the Republicans, you need to take action and contact your House Representative to request he vote for Louie Gohmert as Speaker of the House, and not establishment Republican John Boehner.
Incumbent John Boehner is reviled by many conservatives for being too much an establishment Representative.
You can help oust him by contacting your Representative this morning at their Washington DC offices and request staff to vote for announced candidate Louie Gohmert who is supported by many conservatives.
Last night, Heritage Action had a teleconference on the issue and asked their 10,000 "Sentinels" to take that action.
Many of my readers are in Lake County and our US House Representative is Dan Webster. HERE is his page where you can get his information, or just call his Washington DC office at: (202) 225-2176 I just called this number and left my recommendation to vote for Louie Gohmert. The staffer did not KNOW Webster's plan or who he intended to vote.
Meanwhile, I recommend you watch CSPAN at http://www.c-span.org/ . They are interviewing new House and Senate members and many callers are telling them to NOT vote for Boehner. Right away, you can tell who the establishment Representatives are based on their reply.
Watch the full voting process on the House speaker today at NOON on www.c-span.org . They say the FIRST vote will be a verbal roll call vote and could take an hour. The winner needs 218 votes. The initial vote includes nominations for incumbent John Boehner, Nancy Pelosi (can't happen), plus new opponents Louie Gohmert and Ted Yolo. If there is no winner with 218 votes in the first vote, then they take more votes until there is a winner.
If you have a different Representative or need to find who it is, go to THIS page and also bookmark your Representative's page.
I recommend any conservative join Heritage Action as a "Sentinel" where you learn a lot about Federal issues and get involved in action plans.
Here are my notes from the Heritage Action teleconference:
