Islam bias in schools again erupts - this time WND (and Fox news and Christian Science Monitor) describes a Wisconsin school where studenta were asked to write an essay about what it is like to be Muslim in America. But, no such essay about Christianity or Judaism.
As one critic said, why isn't there an essay about what it is like to be a Christian in violent Muslim countries like Syria (or in Dearborn, MI)? WND provided an in depth article with many quotes, so read it for good background. I am guessing the assignment was taken verbatim from the TEACHER's version of the textbook or some local Muslim student pushed for it. (CAIR and MSA push for that).
According to the local newspaper, the Wisconsin Daily Independent:
"... (10th grade) students were to write a five paragraph essay pretending to be a Muslim. The student is asked to write about the daily struggles that they would face as a Muslim student in the United States. The e-mail goes on to remind the students that class has been watching documentaries that have the facts needed to write the essay.
The assignment begs to have a few questions answered.
First of all, what documentaries were watched and who produced them? The Middle East is known for producing several “documentaries” that are full of propaganda and anti-American sentiment. Is that truly the type of video that our students should be exposed to? Were there other videos shown to balance the debate on the subject?"
Here is the WND article. <<< contains more critical quotes and facts
Here is the Christian Science Monitor article.
And here is the FoxNews article on the same issue.
WND also describes a separate school incident:
"Just this week, it was reported that Mason High School in Mason, Ohio, hosted “A Covered Girl Challenge” in which the Muslim Student Association, or MSA, asked all female students to wear a hijab to school to “celebrate” the school’s “diversity” and “promote open-mindedness.”
Robert Spencer, author of the Jihad Watch blog, asked, “When is there a Cross-Wearer’s Challenge Day” held at the school? Or what about a “Yamulke Wearer’s Challenge Day?”"
The WND article also gave a separate tidbit on another way Islam is proslytyzing in schools:
"NP3 High School, a public charter school in Sacramento, held “NP3 Hijab Day” earlier this year. It all started, again, when a female student in the MSA (Muslim Student Association) gave a presentation to school staff on “Islamophobia.” (Was there a similar balancing presentation on Islamic violence and their unwillingness to assimilate into American laws and customs?)
The student was an intern with the Hamas-supporting Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), and it wasn’t long before students were being invited by the MSA to join in a “Hijab Day” at the school library. The MSA and CAIR are offshoots of the Muslim Brotherhood, and CAIR allegedly helped the Brotherhood funnel money to the terrorist organization Hamas, according to documents filed with a federal court in Dallas, Texas, during the Holy Land Foundation terror-financing trial in 2007-2008."
Americans need to keep an eye on this and not let local schools become centers of Islam bias and proslytyzing. Any person allowed to visit classes and show documentaries on Islam should be offset with alternative viewpoint speakers. If there is a "wear a hijab day" then there should also be a "wear a holy cross" day and student members of all other faiths should be required to participate.
