Syrian Refugee Update: Are 2000 Syrian unvetted Muslim refugees coming to Florida? A Syrian activist says so. Will any be sent to Lake County? Two of the nine Federal contractors for bringing in refugees are located in Orlando. I don't know yet about Lake County , but a new stealth mosque and other factors indicate some may be coming to Tavares. I am still seeking confirmation.
Additionally, the Florida Dept. of Refugee Services is having a meeting in Orlando tomorrow, Oct. 14, to discuss refugee issues at 10:00 am at the FDOT Orlando Urban Office Government Office . 133 S Semoran Blvd , Orlando. (I just confirmed the meeting is on, and is run by the "Florida Refugee Services" department, not FDOT.)
