Note: Another protest about the Target policy allowing transgenders to use the ladies room took place at the Mt. Dora, FL Target on Tuesday, April 26, 2016. About 25 people showed up and another protest is scheduled for Tues. May 3rd after 5pm "for working folks to attend". The Orlando Sentinel posted THIS article today, Apr. 26.

Yesterday we visited the Mt. Dora, FL Target to raise the issue of a new Target national policy to "welcome" transgender men into female restrooms. The Daily Commercial and Orlando Sentinel were there, as well as channel 13 TV news. THIS Orlando Sentinel article claims 5+ people "bombarded" the Target, implying we were throwing water balloons or bad words at them, which is not true. We did find out that Target refuses to answer how they determine who is a valid transgender person vs one who is not, and that now seems to be the issue.
Their attitude is if their primary demographic, women or parents with children, are concerned about bathroom safety, then don't use their gender neutral restrooms. Right now, customers are not warned of the new policy on the rest room doors, yet.
After the Target visit, an Orlando TV reporter who had a young daughter called me, agreeing with our position and providing visibility to the issue, but she could not attend the event.
And, in Marion County, the School Board is resisting conversion of student bathrooms to a gender neutral system. So this Target policy is being pushed in many areas.
So, there, you have it. Use the restrooms down the road at Chick-fil-a which probably won't go gender neutral for awhile. This political correctness is insane.
The issue is not about legitimate transgenders who clearly adopt clothing of their preferred sex. The issue is that some moms at the event are concerned that some pedophile will use the vague and unenforced Target policy as an excuse to enter a women's restroom to take pictures or worse. A father came up afterwards and said if he caught one entering a bathroom when his daughter was in there, he would pound him "into the ground".
Target is being criticized for disrupting the security of women and children when, according to Breitbart, "The number of Americans who are transgender, or who wish to live as members of the opposite sex, is very small. It amounts to roughly one out of every 2,400 adults, according to a 2010 study of Census data." Thus, Target is inflaming and antagonizing about 2400 potential customers for every transgender customer.
I feel sad for the Target employees who are caught in the middle of this liberal policy from their national office, and seem to be saying they will not intervene or validate males entering a female restroom until a customer complains.
So, ladies, here are your choices for action:
- Do nothing. Hope for the best when visiting Target and their bathrooms.
- Carry and use pepper spray.
- Boycott Target entirely - but LET THEM know by email or phone calls,
- Never use their restrooms - visit a nearby Chick-fil-a and use theirs,
- If a male enters the Target ladies room "who does not appear to be transgender", scream and make a scene. You can find images of different types of screams to practice HERE.
- We don't recommend using concealed carry and pulling a gun on any guy in the ladies room. Target takes pride in their restrooms and has a poster about it on the inside of the doors. They don't like messes and will take away your shopping privileges.

NEW Apr. 26, 2016 - Breitbart reports top 20 sex crimes committed in Target Stores
HERE is a Ted Cruz ad attacking Trump for his stand that gender neutral bathrooms are ok. "Should a grown man pretending to be a woman be allowed to use the woman's restroom? The same restroom used by your daughter? Your wife?"
Apparently Ontario, Canada implemented a gender neutral program in 2012, and this article describes how a sexual predator used it to sexually assault some women in a shelter.
Feb. 18, 2016 - Seattle, WA - A man twice entered the changing room of a swimming pool and began disrobing, once in front of a young girls' swim team, saying transgender policies gave him the right to do so.
This 2013 TV report in Los Angeles describes a man dressed as a woman in the ladies room in a Macy' store and he had hours of videos of women in the changing room.

HERE is an open letter to Target written by a woman angry at their policy. "You have taken the FEELINGS of LESS THAN ONE PERCENT of our population into account and in one swift statement told the entire country that the safety of our vulnerable women and children is of no concern to you or your staff."

NEW: April 25, 2016: Now at least one website is spreading an inaccurate story that Target has reversed their policy. That is NOT true per this fact check report which says the "reversal" story is a hoax.

Ralph Smith was a no show: Our original plan was for both Vance Jochim, editor of this blog, and local radio show host Ralph Smith to lead the protest. But Ralph owns a tire store and had to deliver some to Clermont, so he arrived after our meeting at Target was over. But, our readers should have evidence that Ralph was ready to invade Target, so he brought a pink shirt to show he identified with females.
