NationBuilder Read about it the June 1 Election Supervisor forum in the flyer below and enter the June 1 event into your calendar NOW. Be sure to be there at the Tavares Community Center. You can talk to the candidates from 6:30 to 7pm, when the forum starts, moderated by Walter Price. The flyer below only lists the Republican candidates since the rules of the Republican Party prohibit from including members of other parties. However, the event includes the Democrat candidate Christopher Flint since the meeting is actually run by the North Lake Tea Party. (The NLTP meeting flyer actually lists Flint as a confirmed attendee). The NPA candidate did not confirm attending. The NLTP is the most objective and organized candidate forum you will see in Lake County. They ask tough questions of every candidate. You can check the schedule of other future candidate forums (Sheriff, Lake County Board members, etc) at the North Lake Tea Party website HERE. Eustis Mayor's Campaign for Elections Supervisor hijinks drop to high school level

Tavares, FL May 26, 2016 Eustis hijinks by the Mayor continue. Eustis Mayor Michael Holland is running for Lake County Elections Supervisor. So his former boyfriend Tim Totten held an event (part of a series) to honor local Ann Dupee. Magically, Holland's campaign is the sponsor and their sign was on the dais during Totten's interview. It was almost bigger than the honoree Ann Dupee. But someone apparently took pictures of many attendees posing with Ann, then posted them on the Holland's campaign website, and that even included Holland's opponent, Senator Alan Hays, who attended to honor Dupee. Then they are posting two versions of the pictures on Facebook, and one has Holland's sign inserted into each picture, including the one with Hays. So, warning to Lake Countians. Totten, known for organizing many events in Eustis, is ruining his good reputation by mixing beneficial community events with Holland's campaign and tricks like this. Your FRONT PAGE article today, May 22, 2016 on "Florida coastal cities eye rising seas" is very biased, citing unscientific claims like Florida cities "are studying maps that depict areas submerged by as much as 2 to 3 feet of sea rise by 2050." You also say "Along Central Florida's Gulf coast, seas will rise between a foot and 7 feet this century, according to Tampa Bay Climate Science Advisory Panel convened by University of Florida programs. Meeting Notice: Lake County, FL Candidate forum for Supervisor of Elections scheduled for Wed., June 1, 2016 in Tavares Tavares, FL May 10, 2016Candidates hoping to replace retiring Lake County Supervisor of Elections Emogene Stegall will discuss their merits and philosophies at the Tavares Civic Center, 101 E. Caroline St., Tavares at 7pm on Wednesday, June 1, 2016.Confirmed candidates attending the forum include Margie Eaton, Alan Hays, Christopher Flint and Michael Holland.
