Meeting Notice: Lake County, FL Candidate forum for Supervisor of Elections scheduled for Wed., June 1, 2016 in Tavares
Tavares, FL May 10, 2016Candidates hoping to replace retiring Lake County Supervisor of Elections Emogene Stegall will discuss their merits and philosophies at the Tavares Civic Center, 101 E. Caroline St., Tavares at 7pm on Wednesday, June 1, 2016.Confirmed candidates attending the forum include Margie Eaton, Alan Hays, Christopher Flint and Michael Holland. Flint is a Democrat and the others are Republicans. NPA candidate Scott Larson did not confirm attendance. Attendance is free and voters of all parties are invited. Refreshments will be provided. The event is sponsored by the North Lake Tea Party (NLTP) and the Lake Federated Republican Women’s Club (LFRWC) . These sponsors are known for hosting an objective meeting with tough questions from experienced political observers. Some of the issues to be discussed might include knowledge of state elections regulations, ability to manage a large seasonal staff, plans to improve automation, systems to transition from retiring staff, methods to reduce voter fraud, website improvements to expand transparency and provide consolidated election and vote reporting on one site.
