Yup – here comes the next public relations crisis for schools. A Satanist group formed by atheists is demanding that school districts across the country allow formation of Satanist after school clubs.
We tell you more here than the AP or your local paper.
The source AP article says one school district is in Florida but I cannot find which one. However, the AP article says most of the School Districts contacted had “Good News” after school clubs teaching about the Bible, so the Satanists were using that as a basis to demand parity.
NOTE: The group starting this, the "Satanist Temple" is NOT actually the real Satanist parent group, but a spinoff. See "Sources" below.
They do quote Mat Staver from Liberty Counsel based in nearby Orlando, and HERE is THEIR press release on this issue:
‘Mat Staver, founder of a Christian legal aid group that has represented the Child Evangelism Fellowship, said Greaves' organization was illegitimate and an "atheist group masquerading" as religious. Greaves described Satanism as an atheist philosophy whose believers "feel it provides everything a religion provides to be legitimized as such."”
“The so-called Satanist group has nothing good to offer the students and its entire reason for existence is to be disruptive. Schools do not have to tolerate groups which disrupt the school and target other legitimate clubs. No sane parents would consent to allow their child to attend this group. Full of sound and fury, this group will soon fade away,” concluded Staver."
"Liberty Counsel has offered pro bono legal counsel to the schools targeted by this disruptive group."
This group apparently is linked to atheist groups and my opinion is it is another progressive effort to break down Christian and family values… which is one of the state goals of the Communist Party.
“The Satanic Temple contacted nine public school districts across the country this week seeking to start after-school Satan programs. In all but one district, religious clubs are operated by the Child Evangelism Fellowship's Good News Clubs, in which students can study the Bible and pray, according to temple co-founder Lucien Greaves.”“
In Utah, the Granite School District said that if the group meets set requirements, including paying rent, there's nothing the district can do to stop it. District spokesman Ben Horsley said the group won't be able to put up fliers in schools or talk to students during school hours, the same arrangement given to the Good News Club.Springfield Public Schools in Missouri also said it was reviewing the group's request. It noted that granting requests to use the district's taxpayer-funded facilities "does not constitute the district's endorsement."
The school district in Prince George's County, Maryland, described a similar policy and noted parental permission was required for after-school activities.”

Ps: I have called Liberty Counsel to find out which Florida School District has received the Satanist demand for an after school Satanist club and will update this post when I find out.

Here is the press release from the Satanist Group.
They are a spinoff of the Satanic Temple HERE. Both use the "after school Satan" logo.
The Federalist just published an article "Six Things to Know about After school Satanist Clubs" and included the fact the after school club formation group, the "Satanic Temple" is NOT the actual Satanist group. Liberty Counsel says they are atheists trying to cause problems.
