Tavares, FL June 24, 2018
Friday, the 22nd, was the last day to file for elected position races in Lake County, FL.
So, I filed for one.
Will we really run out of clean water in Lake County, FL?
I plan to research all the County related water issues, what LCWA can do about it, and what can be done. I am one of two Republicans and one Democrat on the August primary ballot. I will be on the August primary ballot and the winning Republican and Democrat will be on the Nov. general election ballot.
Right now, I have no specific theory about what is needed, but have significant experience into digging into facts and communicating what they say at my blog "FiscalRangers.com".
I plan to also research the issue of septic tanks and the need, or lack of need to act on them. I have heard interesting points from both sides when attending local County and City Board meetings.
And, I will lobby for water related legislative changes that are needed.
Also, I will use the position as bully pulpit to question:
1) Why we have so many water related districts, committees etc. in Lake County. Outgoing FL Rep. Larry Metz once held a Lake County Legislators' Delegation summit in 2014 to ask that question, and I made a 3-part video tape here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7XvbMjSq-Bc
2) And, it seems many people don't understand what each water related group does, or what authority it has, so I will try to flush that out.
3) I will also use the position as a bully pulpit to ask why Lake County has NO MEMBER on the Board of the St. John's River Water Management District. The Governor appoints members to the SJRWMD Board and has consistently ignored the need for Lake County to have a representative there. Many people blame the LCWA for problems regulated by the SJRWMD.
