So who are the spendthrift vs frugal City Council candidates for the Tavares, FL City Council in Lake County, FL?
- Who do you think will support continued high-density developments in Tavares in rural areas (and inflaming nearby rural neighbors) vs more moderate growth in line with existing neighborhoods?
- Who will work to keep increasing city debt and bigger budgets vs controlling spending and reducing the $74-million City debt?
- Who will actually ask for staff action plans to REDUCE costs like water/wastewater vs just rubber-stamping a consultant or staff proposal?
- Who will work to provide funding for non-downtown areas, and expand road maintenance in outlying areas of Tavares rather than just approve downtown projects?
- Who is strong enough to stand up to massive staff spending requests (i.e. $8-million for a new public works building) and ask tough questions to implement measurable operating performance measurements for every department and project that are published online at least quarterly?
- Who will protect family values vs using their office to support divisive socialist types of objectives?
Well, we didn't get all these answers because the questions had to be written and many were screened out.
Watch this video of the two District 4 candidates and four District 2 Candidates recorded at a candidate forum on Oct. 17, 2019.
We provide the entire video without editing. We did note, however, that the Chamber organizers screened out quite a few questions, including any directed at just one candidate.
