Three recent homeless, undocumented migrants are strewing trash on the streets in Tavares, FL!
Well, it is true.
Three rather small, black bears (or cubs?) were spotted (by me) by the Tavares Nature Park tipping over my trash can, but it was only full of leaves. They ran into the Park when I yelled out a window at 11pm.
In the last week they have tipped over several neighbor trash cans and strewn garbage on lawns and down my street. A call to the Sheriff just to update them in case of other mischief resulted in them just saying to call the FWC (Florida Wildlife Commission?).
They don't tip my actual garbage cans because I include cat poop in them. Another trick reported on TV news is to pour about 1 oz of Ammonia into the trash bags which acts as a repellant.
I am trying to figure a way to persuade them to migrate to the nearby Publix or McDonalds, or the Ocala forest...maybe leave a trail of dry dog food leading to them?
