The Tavares, FL City Council recently approved spending a CARES Act grant to remodel the Council meeting room with equipment to make videos of meetings, hopefully, to include both the Planning & Zoning Meetings as well as the main City Council Meetings.
As the editor of the Fiscal Watchdog blog FiscalRangers.com, I have attended many Tavares City Council meetings and made meeting videos because the Council would not fund it, unlike Eustis and Leesburg.
However, the Covid-19 CARES Act funding grants came up and City Manager John Drury said they are spending about $200k of Federal grants to build the facilities in the City Council meeting room by the end of December when the funds must be spent.
This is great news for Tavares residents who can now see videos of Council meetings. I have been pitching that idea for probably five years. You can find videos of prior meetings at my YouTube channel "FiscalRangersFlorida". There is a Tavares Playlist.
