Lake County, FL Board of Commissioners meets Tuesday, Nov. 10 and spends bundles of money & other civic actions

Tomorrow, Tuesday, Nov. 10 at 9am, the Lake County Board will have their State of the County meeting (usually with an interesting video) at the Lake County Administration "Round" building coordinated by current Chairperson Leslie Shamrock Campione .

 

There will also be a presentation on the Lake County Workforce Strategic Plan. They will also hear an update on the CARES Act Federal grant funding for local businesses and residents. They gave out chunks of the $48-million they received to all 14 County cities who are rapidly figuring how to spend their money before the spending deadline of December 31 (I think that is it).

 

You can attend the meeting, go to the County website and get the agenda and watch the meeting live or in a zoom meeting, so no excuses for practicing civic duty to be informed.

 

But you have to wonder why the Board rarely discusses the MILLIONS in spending listed in the Consent agenda. So come to a meeting, pick one of the hefty spending items and ask them in public input to justify the spending. Don't let them bury it in the consent agenda.
