Lake County, FL Parents rant at School Board over CRT and other issues

Yesterday, June 14, 2021, there was yelling and emotions by parents at the Lake County, FL School Board meeting about CRT (Critical Race Theory) being taught in at least one school and about the retention of a teacher with a questionable background.

We are back to Anna Cowan School Board shouting matches from 15 years ago. Very little "business" was on the agenda, so the meeting focused on presenting awards and then CRT and other parent public input issues.

 

I gave input and did mention CRT concerns, not knowing other waiting speakers were waiting to vent. My observation is that conservative parents are now getting fed up with Marxism in schools and Government and are using emotional rants as the Democrats do, and it may work.

The School superintendent gave a very good response that CRT would not be sanctioned in LCSD schools which is a great message for staff and teachers who might think about sneaking it in. She was very clear that CRT was not acceptable at LCSD and asked to be notified by parents of any CRT being used in Lake County Schools. This was a much stronger statement on banning CRT than in the past. It might have helped that Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis issued a rule banning CRT in Florida schools.

 

I believe her and her promise to investigate any CRT activities.

 

The problem is some rank and file teachers or administrators may still try to insert inflammatory CRT concepts into schools because they learned it in college. If that happens in your kid's school, get some evidence like videos or screenshots and pass it to the Superintendent or Bill Mathias. Let them investigate it first before ranting at Board meetings.

 

This Twitter trending picture below is from outside Lake County of a CRT session for employees of a firm clearly shows why parents and corporate employees are getting mad about any mention of CRT, which in my opinion is a Marxist attempt to divide many groups to create hate and emotions.
