Lake County, FL School Board approved ballot request to renew 3/4 millage "school safety tax"

Lake County, FL School Board approved ballot request to renew 3/4 millage "school safety tax"

The Board of the Lake County, FL School District is starting the process to add a request on the Nov. ballot for voters to renew the 3/4 mill property "school safety tax" that has been in effect since 2019.

The Board's Internal Audit Director audited the program and determined they did actually spend the tax collections on campus security, counselors and other services like they specified in the original ballot issue. That audit report will be posted on the Internal Audit page of the District's website after the official Board Approval on Apr. 11.
