Two Lake County, FL Election Hob Nobs hold election straw polls this week in Clermont & Leesburg

Tomorrow, Monday, Aug. 8th, 2022 and on Tuesday, Aug. 9th, there are two election "Hob Nobs" run by local Chambers of Commerce to let the public meet and greet all local election candidates and to vote for them in a straw poll that is administered by the Lake County Supv. of Elections.

 

You should be there if possible to "vote" for your favored candidates.

 

The results are released later in the evening for bragging rights. It is really a popularity contest using a very small sample of voters - those who follow local politics, thus most seasoned political followers take the results with a grain of salt. It is all about which candidates get more supporters to show up to get their votes. Additionally, the organizers charge high fees, like $150, to candidates to have a table there, plus $ for entry tickets (Leesburg) for their followers. Thus some candidates boycott the events due to the high cost. The picture is from a prior Hob Nob.

 

I will be at both Hob Nobs to vote for Tom Vail, Barbara Price, LAURA LOOMER FOR CONGRESS, and Stephanie Luke, among others. Since incumbent US Congressman Daniel Webster has snubbed just about any political forum, including a TV interview by Spectrum Channel 13, we don't expect him there. He apparently is afraid to debate challenger Laura Loomer.
