It is my belief that AI will evolve to replace some school districts in some states in 5-10 years. All it takes is for a major billion dollar AI learning firm to develop a complete curriculum, get charter schools to test it to show cost savings, and then propose it to State Education Departments or Legislators to get them to adopt it to save billions in current K12 costs. I have been around people in California that think that way. To continue my suggestion that LCSD get more proactive in AI, here are some idea sources:
1. This article from a major e-learning software firm shares 6 main uses of AI NOW in education, plus other AI players in Edtech:

2. Matt Wolfe on YouTube is a HUGE source of general AI news and you should subscribe to his weekly newsletter to learn all the new uses of AI and the thousands of startups and apps already in the AI space. This is why I think LCSD should start embracing AI education NOW for students AND teachers so they can be competitive in college admissions or for competitive skills to get hired for work.
Here is Matt Wolfe's recent video on 9 AI tools to use to expose you to what is going on in AI:

And, here is his most recent weekly YouTube AI news post to understand just how many fields and tech are being affected:

3. Time.com's website. If you search on their website on "AI Revolution", you get 2340 hits. https://time.com/search/?q=AI+revolution
Here is a recent one trending among AI sites:
"How AI Will Reshuffle Society"
https://time.com/6310115/ai-revolution-reshape-the-world/
Here is a quote:
"If the last great tech wave—computers and the internet—was about broadcasting information, this new wave is all about doing. We are facing a step change in what’s possible for individual people to do, and at a previously unthinkable pace. AI is becoming more powerful and radically cheaper by the month—what was computationally impossible, or would cost tens of millions of dollars a few years ago, is now widespread.".
So, once again, does LCSD wait until AI steamrolls them, or be proactive and start rolling out AI pilots, and create a SERIOUS AI steering and action committee to prepare students for the new world?
Happy Labor Day week and the start of school. Be glad you are not in the UK. Their kids just started school this week, but the UK government safety office on Friday announced over 100 schools would be shut down because many schools were built with aerated concrete in the 1950s and they knew the life cycle was only 30 years, but ignored it and now roof panels are falling down. It is a huge controversy on GBnews.com, a British news channel.
