In June, 2024, Lake County, FL Tax Collector and his brother Mark Jordan, committed an underhanded dirty trick to fool incumbent and 2024 re-election candidate Lake County Property Appraiser Carey Baker into thinking he had no opponent, and at the last minute filed Mark Jordan for the position while Carey had filed as a write-in, thinking he had no opponent. This post includes the details and an approved resolution by the Lake County, FL Republican Party calling for Mark Jordan to drop from the race. Major accounting & auditing firm discloses how "Woke" California is in employment ad

A quick idea of how bad the "Woke" hiring requirements are in California derived from ESG. I was reviewing job postings for internal auditors on Indeed.com. A Protiviti ad for an "Orlando Internal Audit and Financial Advisory Consultant" included the following in their job criteria, saying "Protiviti will consider qualified applicants with criminal histories in a manner consistent with the requirements of the San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance." The same was specified for Los Angeles. A search on "California Fair Chance Ordinance" indicates it must be a state wide regulation requiring cities to implement it by Ordinance. So, if your employer hires a SF or LA based or California "Internal Audit Consultant" from Protiviti or perhaps any other firm, they may have a criminal history. Florida ranks #1 in a new Heritage Foundation Education Freedom Report Card report, announced at the Heritage Foundation launch event in Orlando on Sept. 9, 2022, which I attended. They announced state rankings in a new study to evaluate "Education Freedom" in all the states. It ended with a speech on Education reforms championed by FL Gov. Ron DeSantis. BUT, they also approached a third Republican candidate, Gavriel Sorviano, and asked if he would quit the race and endorse Webster. Candidate Laura Loomer, running against incumbent Daniel Webster for US Congress District 11 (mostly Lake County, FL) gave a rousing speech during her Meet & Greet event at Clermont's River Church on July 25, 2022. We missed the first 10 minutes, but there were many standing ovations for the points she focuses on, such as the incumbent's low voting attendance records, lack of support of Donald Trump, etc. In my opinion, one failure of Webster was to vote for billions to be sent to the Ukraine, which was bad enough, but then there was no oversight requirement, thus corruption will run rampant over all the equipment sent to the Ukraine. Got Septic? New Distributed community Septic System discussed at Lake County, FL Board meeting March 22, 2022

Got Septic? If you have a septic tank or considering a replacement, or buying a new home outside city limits, you need water and sewage connections. A new "Septic to Distributed System" method for new homes and small developments (50 homes per system) that do not have direct access to city sewage systems was discussed at yesterday's (Mar. 22, 2022) Lake County Board meeting. You can watch the tab 30 agenda item meeting video by going to the Lake County website, clicking and scrolling to about 1 hour, 55 minutes and watch it, plus you can click the agenda tab and scroll to tab 30 to see the agenda documents. This new system was solicited by the Lake County Board to reduce pressure for developers to annex into cities and approve HIGH-density homes to justify costs for city proviced sewer pipelines. Instead, they found a vendor ( http://www.onsyte.com/ ) that can provide small, stand-alone, more advanced community septic systems. Mascotte, FL implements property tax rollback rate, but VALUATIONS went UP 25%

AAAGH!! Mascotte, FL City Council members, in Lake County, voted for the full millage rate rollback for property taxes. I was going to give them kudos for doing so. Then I read the details in their budget introduction. The property appraiser VALUATIONS leaped by 25%, thus the rollback was minuscule vs the TAX INCREASE that will be faced by Mascotte residents due to the very high valuations. So, they should have reduced their millage MORE than the rollback rate like Minneola did. Why aren't more Lake County taxpayers getting angry at all the local governments like cities and the County and School Board raking in the extra dollars due to high valuations, and some giving out 3% raises and not setting at least a rollback rate in this Pandemic economy? All the subsidies end by December, and then evictions and foreclosures will show just how out of touch the elected officials are.
